We conservatives have our work cut out for us in 2013. Liberals ready to give away the farm (our nation’s prosperity, and freedom) with no inkling of the hole we’re in… Liberals stand over us and read our obituary while at the same time they whisper that we need to change (read: compromise our principles) or we’ll never win again…
[The lefts arguments contradict themselves. What good is advice to one already dead? Unless… you simply want to convince someone they are dead… and just in case you’re not quite dead yet… here’s some advice to transform yourselves into us, your enemy… Look guys, giving advice to the dead to change their ways kind of exposes your hand (actual fears and beliefs)…]
Still, it won’t be easy and is likely to be a losing battle (years from now)… but we will fight anyway!
“My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come, when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of Fellowship, but it is not this day!… This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you, stand!” – King’s Speech in Final Battle of Movie, Lord of the Rings – The Return of the King.
Let’s Roll…
Before I “roll”, gotta’ get over this knot on my head from going over the “fiscal cliff”.
Please someone ban these two words, fiscal cliff. It is so absurd to suggest–and that’s what it does–it just came upon us without our knowledge. We did not know it would come to this, what, with all this wasteful spending? My, my, my. When I was a child and even into early adulthood and beyond, my thoughts were the congress men and women were or had to be so knowledgeable, so intelligent; and I felt so safe. Now I am thinking how didmost of these imbiciles
get elected and even scarier thought, the ones that voted for them.
Dang, I even voted for them!
Right on the money Jamye. And part of the solution should have been implemented decades ago… Term Limits on the House and Senate and a Balanced Budget Amendment. Of course I think the problem is much deeper than even that.
I believe ineffective, bloated, bureaucratic government is just a symptom of the real disease we’re facing. We as a society are embracing fiscal and moral bankruptcy. Common sense is non-existent. Fundamental principles of individualism, self-reliance, limited government, and capitalism (among many other American principles) are in decline and under constant attack.
We get the government we deserve…
You support term limits? I’m surprised. Didn’t you once say we have term limits; they’re called elections? Maybe I’m mixing up you and another friend.

You are confusing me with someone else. I’ve always supported term limits at all levels of government.
I was very active in getting them implemented in the City of Houston (when I was an officer for the Houston Your Republicans). It was one of our few victories against the leftist that run that town. As far as I know they’re still in place despite the constant bitching by the Houston Chronicle and the rest of the leftist.
It practically saved the city from total destruction from Mayor Lee. P. Brown… the biggest idiot to ever hold elected office.
>> Let’s Roll
“Let’s Roll” is of course a reference to “Tod Beamer”, a hero on flight 93 that was crashed by terrorist on 9/11 when Tod and other passengers tried to retake the plane. His last words on a phone call to a lady they had reached on the ground were “Are you guys ready? Let’s roll”. According to his family, “Let’s Roll” is a phrase Tod used all the time. Today, this phrase has come to “symbolize heroism, self-sacrifice and initiative in a tough situation”. — Wikipedia
Ok. I agree with term limits, just as a practical matter — I’d also like to see real campaign finance reform, but won’t hold my breath. The way money greases campaigns today, it’s just bribery, plain and simple, whether unions on the left or insurance companies on the right. We have lobbyists writing most of our legislation. I’m not sure how to fix it.
