People - Founding Father - Jefferson, Thomas

“We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion (lavish abundance) and servitude. If we run into such debts as that (as typical in Europe) we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our callings and our creeds, as the people of England are, our people, like them, must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses, and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they now do, on oatmeal and potatoes, have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanages to account, but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers.” — Thomas Jefferson (who really was an advocate for smaller government, little debt, and low taxes as were practically all the founding fathers)

We’ve made the wrong choice. Now the only question is, can we (or is it will we) choose to correct this grave mistake? Probably not…

“Well, this is it. Today is your last chance to enroll in a medical insurance plan under Obamacare. There will be no exceptions, other than people who haven’t yet enrolled. And if you don’t have insurance, you will pay a penalty. Make that a tax. Unless the tax would be a hardship in any way, in which case just don’t pay it and the IRS will be totally cool.” — JAMES TARANTO (WSJ)

So today is the first (of many) final deadlines to sign up for Obamacare.

Here are a few things we know (or can logically deduce since information from the administration is rather sparse):

  • 4 out of 5 plans are subsidized
  • 3 out of 4 now have a higher premium
  • A large majority of those who have signed up already had insurance before (it was just canceled because of Obamacare).
  • Of the 30 plus million who didn’t have insurance before, only about 1 million (3%) (maybe) are now covered. That’s OK (as far as the left is concerned) healthcare was not the goal here. Control was the goal.
  • Billions (in tax dollars) will soon be paid to the insurance companies (it was part of the bill) in a planned initial bailout. It’s why the insurance companies signed on to the scheme in the first place.
  • The administration will be touting the over 6 million “enrolled” but claim (a lie) that they don’t know the percentage that have actually paid.
  • The administration also claims (a lie) that they don’t know the percentage of young (healthy) versus old.
  • The administration doesn’t see fixing Obamacare as a technical or logistical problem. A better message is what is needed.

Obamacare (the Affordable Care Act) comes down to another ill-conceived, bureaucratic, behemoth, debacles, pushed on America by the left. In the long run it may work… in the since that it becomes another popular entitlement pushing us (actually our children and grandchildren) with even greater momentum to hell (insolvency). But control and government dependency in the meantime is the goal of the left and eventual hell (insolvency) is a small price to pay for that.

In the short term (2014 & 2016), let’s hope there is a price to be paid by Obama but more specifically his Party. We’ll see.

But good news for the left… in the end you win. We can no easier turnaround from this fate you have set us on than turn back the tide. Conservatives may manage to build a dam of sand but really we have no chance of fixing this. Obamacare is not the problem, but rather a symptom of the real disease of socialism slowly replacing the great experiment of freedom and self-determination.

United Nations - Environment ProgramYou really want to know what “climate change” is all about? Well, we got the perfect demonstration of that yesterday (11/20/2013) when 132 “poor countries” threw a hissy fit and walked out of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Warsaw, Poland. Why? Because of opposition to “wealth redistribution” in the name of environmentalism.

These free-loaders claim they have the support of other coalitions of poor nations, including the Least Developed Countries, the Alliance of Small Island States and the Africa Group; which is like saying all the kids on the playground agree with me that you should give me your lunch money. Newsflash… you don’t have jack-$#@* if you don’t have support from the guys with the money… unless you’ve got the means and the balls to take it. (Yes… we may have a pussy for a President right now; but he fears us more than he fears you.)

The UN and “poor countries” expect nothing less than $100 billion to be paid annually (called “reparations”) within seven years by “rich countries” for the sins of “historical greenhouse gas emissions”. Ostensibly this is to “prepare for the impacts of global warming” (heat waves, cold waves, droughts, floods, storms, and lack of storms). This is not, we repeat, NOT to line the pockets of two-bit dictators and corrupt bureaucrats.

“The US, EU, Australia and Norway remain blind to the climate reality that’s hitting us all, and poor people and countries much harder. They continue to derail negotiations in Warsaw that can create a new system to deal with new types of loss and damage such as sea-level rise, loss of territory, biodiversity and other non-economic losses more systematically.” — Harjeet Singh, spokesperson for Action Aid International

To which I say… “You got that right, buddy! And let’s make dam sure crap like this continues to be “derailed”. Actually, with this (Obama) administration; I’m kind of curious as to why they aren’t on board. This seems right up the lefts alley. (This question is answered below.)

Political - Socialism - Environmental March
That aside it seems that Australia, Europe and the U.S. have all argued that the issue should be addressed in 2015. I couldn’t disagree more. This is way to important to wait until 2015. We should tell these little piss-ants to $#@$-off right now; not in 2015.

“The EU understands that the issue is incredibly important for developing countries. But they should be careful about … creating a new institution. This is not [what] this process needs. The whole financing discussion reflects that the developed world knows it has special responsibility. Most of what has been emitted has been done by us.” — Connie Hedegaard, European Union climate commissioner

And this moron is “on our side”…

So what do we (and by we I mean Obama through the State Dept.) have to say about all this…

“A central issue will be whether loss and damage continues to fall within adaptation or whether it becomes a separate, third pillar (alongside adaption and mitigation), which we believe would lead the [United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change] to focus increasingly on blame and liability, which in turn would be counterproductive from the standpoint of public support for the convention.” — a State Department memo

Yeah I know. This sounds like something that would come out of the State Department. Let me help you with a translation.

“We’d love to pay you off; but the people back home would have a cow and we can’t afford that politically right now. $#@%! We’re just trying to keep the whole hoax going. Look what happened in Australia for &*#@$ sake! We’re with you but back-off before people (our people) figure this crap out!” — TL Translation of State Dept. Memo

Speaking of Australia and figuring this crap out… they recently booted their left-wing overlords and are in the process of repealing the country’s “carbon tax”. Taking these talks very seriously they sent a mentally challenged janitor and his flatulent deuschand, named Reginald, to represent the land down under at these latest UN climate talks. This would be equivalent to us sending Joe Biden so you can see why the UN and environmentalists were not amused…

“They wore T-shirts and gorged on snacks throughout the negotiation. That gives some indication of the manner they are behaving in. [And that… that dog… should NOT be eating cheese!” — a spokeswoman for the Climate Action Network. (Side Note: This is an actual quote… except maybe for the dog and cheese part…TL :))

Political - Socialism - Environmental MarxSpeaking again of Australia and of someone to “get’s it”…

“The carbon tax is bad for the economy and it doesn’t do any good for the environment. Despite a carbon tax of $37 a ton by 2020, Australia’s domestic emissions were going up, not down. The carbon tax was basically socialism masquerading as environmentalism, and that’s why it’s going to get abolished.” — (new conservative) Prime Minister Tony Abbott

Yes! Yeessssss! In this day and age, in this climate of bullshit… it is so soooo refreshing to hear the truth… to hear someone in power willing to call bullshit on the whole thing. The carbon tax is basically socialism masquerading an environmentalism… which is really what environmentalism has become and why “global warming” (which became “climate change” when the globe stopped warming) was invented!

So that’s what it’s all about. The evolution (or de-evolution) of environmentalism… which is now just a subset and a means to socialism.

Rabbit - (cartoon) - Make Stupid People Shut UpSarah Palin is a public figure and she is “stupid”. So stupid that anything she says, any idea she expresses can (and should) be tossed aside out of hand. There is after all no reason to give any thought to the ideas of stupid people; especially mean stupid people.

Case in Point…

Sarah Palin recently said “[If the U.S. continues to borrow money] It’s going to be like slavery when that note is due. We’re going to be beholden to a foreign master… because there is no plan coming out of Washington, D.C. to stop the incurrence of debt, is there?”

There’s no need to debate the merits of what she said… the left (through the Main Stream Media) has dubbed her stupid. Cue the vile personal attacks and move on…

So when Martin Bashir (of MSNBC) decided he didn’t like the statement, he didn’t logically break down her statement and offer intelligent counterpoints. No. Instead Mr. Bashir gave a history lesson on something called “Darby’s dose” supposedly invented by a cruel slave owner (Thomas Thistlewood) in the 1700s that include the defecation and urination in the mouths and on the faces of disobedient slaves. And… for the crime of a white person “invok[ing] slavery [to make a point], she doesn’t just prove her rank ignorance. She confirms that if anyone truly qualified for a dose of discipline from Thomas Thistlewood, then she would be the outstanding candidate.”

Case closed. And… that is what often passes for debate on the left.

Yes I know this is just one isolated leftist… but there are many others who do this all the time… and they constantly get a pass from their peers.

Another Case in Point…

Me… I believe in traditional marriage and many other things leftist homosexuals find “offensive”. OK. Despite that, if someone wants to delve into why I think the way I do or debate me on those issues; I would be happy to do it. Now I won’t sugar coat it, and feelings may be hurt… You consider me a “bigot” and I consider your position “immoral”. It’s bound to happen… but at no point in time will I use the words “c**ksucking f*g” or anything remotely resembling them.

But Alec Baldwin uses these exact words and many just like them on a fairly regular basis. His latest use of them got his MSNBC show suspended for two weeks. Big whoop. But that’s not the point. This isn’t the first blow-up where the man has used these types of slurs. But he has received pass, after pass, after pass… because he’s a beloved leftist AND hasn’t been labeled stupid (or mean). And I’m not even saying he is… but neither are many others that have been so labeled.

Sarah Palin has said some stupid things… as have I…

But do you want to compare those to comments made by Joe Biden… or Al Gore… or … Barack Obama? But they’re not stupid (by MSM standards)…

Having a massive nation(if not world)-wide monopoly on the media has it’s advantage. One is slandering opponents to the point that debate of their ideas is not necessary. Which is 1) lazy 2) hypocritical & 3) just plain stupid (and mean).

Back to what Sarah Palin said…

One of the dictionary definitions of “slavery” is “submission to a dominating influence”.

Can a populace having to pay more and more in taxes due to an exploding national debt be considered “submission to a dominating influence”? If so, then can we not logically compare it to the dictionary definition of slavery?

When much of that debt is held by foreign nations, is it possible that these nations will seek to influence national policy using the IOUs they hold and their sway over our economy as leverage… thus creating a dominating influence referenced earlier?

Is there any plan coming out of Washington, D.C. to address these concerns and possible threats to our nation and it’s security?

Is it relevant in any way that Occupy Wall Street activists made the exact same comparison of “debt is like slavery” (minus the MSM flack) while they were squatting around the nation?

And the lefts answer to these questions? Sarah Palin is stupid and should be $%&* upon.

People - Cornyn, McConnelThe Establishment Republicans have cast their lot with the Democrats. They actually did it years ago but have somehow hid it. And I admit this is largely the fault of conservatives. We so hope for some meaningful opposition to the road to hell we as a nation are on, that we have been willing to bestow principles on those who don’t have them, and never will. I hope (and think) the fooling and pretending are getting harder and harder to do. It’s time the charlatans are exposed and I’ll continue to try and do my little part.

In the latest example, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Whip John Cornyn (from Texas) are siding with Harry Reid. Behind the scenes they “are actively whipping Senators to shut down debate on the House continuing resolution so that Harry Reid can gut it with just 51 votes.” (Senior Staffer in Senate) This means they are using their positions to pressure other Republicans to allow amendments (with just 51 votes) against the House Bill to continue funding the government (minus Obamacare) as led by Texas Senator Ted Cruz. The amendments they (Establishment Republicans) want to allow is for the reinstatement of the Obamacare funding.

The Democrats aren’t leading the fight to push the Obamacare train-wreck forward, the Establishment Republicans are doing it for them. “To be clear, nobody is fighting harder to make sure Obamacare is funded than Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn.” (Senior Staffer in Senate)

And I would be OK with that. I would even respect it… IF these guys would own up to what they are doing instead of this behind-closed-doors crap. But they intend to continue (as they have for years) to do one thing (we’ll call that substance) and put forth the image of something else (we’ll call that appearances). The “Me-Too” party has learned this lesson well from their co-conspirators.

Sure, both McConnell and Cornyn have publicly stated that they oppose a filibuster from Cruz to prevent Reid from adding funding for Obamacare to the continuing resolution (government funding)… but with the other hand they point Reid to another avenue, another back-door to accomplish the same thing. Not only that they run interference for the Majority Leader. It’s disingenuous at best.

And once they have helped the Democrats to defeat Cruz, the House, and us (conservatives); they will switch to appearance mode. They will then vote AGAINST Reid’s amendment that they made possible in the first place.

“I intend to support the House bill that defunds Obamacare and will vote against a bill that funds it.” — Senator John Cornyn (on Tweeter)

“Once it’s a 51-vote threshold, both McConnell and Cornyn will hide behind a ‘no’ vote on Reid’s amendment—so they will have yet another show vote.” (Senior Staffer in Senate) Again, appearance over substance.

I would say it is time… but it’s not. It is past time (years past time) for conservatives to realize that the Republican Party is not only not our friends, but are our enemies. They smile, they pretend, the talk the talk, but that’s all there is. Their actions, (the substance behind who they are), are against us. WE (conservatives are the RINOs) and we need to stop pretending and move on.

The meaning behind “I Am the RINO”.
I’ve always called many of the old Republican stalwarts RINOs (Republican in Name Only)… but lately I’ve come to question that label as it applies to them. When you hear someone use the term. It really means the individual is not “conservative” as if “Republican” and “conservative” are synonymous. They’re not. They never were. And I’ve decided never will be.

I’ve come to question if the likes of John McCain are RINOs. Now I think maybe HE is what the Republican Party was, is, and always will be… which means I’ve been the RINO all along. One thing is for sure… ONE of us is a RINO. And now, I’ve reached a point where I don’t know which. And I’ve reached a point where I don’t really care. I just want the question settled so we can part ways, amicably or not.

Obama - If I Had a City It Would Look Like DetroitSixty Plus Years of Mismanagement:
Detroit tried to declare bankruptcy last week.

It’s funny to listen to all the rhetoric involved. Politicians at various levels (looking at the votes in Detroit) are screaming for bailouts at both the state and national level. One politician has gone so far as to imply that Obama owes Detroit for handing him Michigan in the last election. [This is the liberal mindset.] A leftist judge has tried to stop the bankruptcy because the union pensions would suffer (she doesn’t give a dam about the creditors mind you…).

But what’s the one thing missing from all the rhetoric from the left… any mention of fiscal responsibility. Even now as the walls collapse around them they wail and fiddle with no clue as to why the walls are collapsing.

Democrats have been running this city for over 60 years (as they have most U.S. cities). And in Detroit, it has been sixty years of ultra-leftist Democrats backed and pushed by the Unions. Detroit went from the motor city; the hub of world’s automotive industry to THIS. And despite all this, what do you want to bet, the leftist find some way to blame Republicans or specifically George W. Bush for this fiasco (it they haven’t already).

“In a nut shell Detroit is simply the culmination of what liberal government and unions will do to a system economically over time. It is our national future.” — TexasLynn (March 4, 2013)

Concept - Opprotunity Ahead, Road Sign
An Opportunity:
At this point in time I only have one wish concerning Detroit (and by extension Michigan) for the sole reason that it would be best for all involved (including the American Tax payers). This wish is that the city and state be allowed to “solve” this problem on their own as the law allows. Meaning… no bailout from the federal government.

Here are the various scenarios of what is likely to happen. Oddly enough they are in order from best outcome to worst AND in reverse order when considering most likely outcome.

Scenario 01: Bankruptcy for the City and No Bailout from Anyone (State or National)
Result: Sweetheart Pensions negotiated by the unions all those years ago aren’t honored or are severly cut back.
Lesson Learned: You can’t just kill the goose that laid the golden egg. Neither can you slowly poison the goose over decades and expect it to be there when you’re old and grey and retired.

Result: Creditors lose most or all of their investment in Detroit.
Lesson Learned: (Smart) Investors won’t loan any more money to Detroit or at least won’t do it without guarantees of return. These investors will also start looking at the risks involved in giving these cities (and states) money and pull back or stop the flow.
Result: Detroit and other fiscally irresponsible entities will be forced to learn a little fiscal responsibility by necessity.

Scenario 02: Michigan bails out Detroit
Result: Sweetheart Pensions and Creditors pay no price for stupid and irresponsible decisions they have made over the decades.
Lesson Learned: None (so mistakes are repeated)

Result: Michigan tax payers foot the bill for Detroit’s idiocy.
Lesson Learned: Look what the leftist politicians and unions did to us. We need to boot those politicians and move towards a right to work environment. Though granted it may take a few iterations of this crap for our friends to the north to learn this lesson… but it’s a good start.

Government - Bailout - Uncle SamScenario 03: Uncle Sam bails out Detroit (This is the worst and most likely outcome)
Result: Sweetheart Pensions and Creditors pay no price for stupid and irresponsible decions they have made over the decades.
Lesson Learned: None (so mistakes are repeated)

Result: US tax payers foot the bill for Detroit’s and Michigan’s idiocy.
Lesson Learned: None (so mistakes are repeated) (California… that’s good news for you)

Result: Every other poorly managed near bankrupt city (and soon states) in the union will be ready for their hand-out.
Lesson Learned: None (keep spending… Uncle Sam has set the precedent for bailouts)

“The minute you step into a bailout in Detroit you’re going to get every city in the country lining up with a tin cup, and that’s why I think even this administration is going to hold back from doing this.” — Charles Krauthammer (conservative commentator)

I agree with Mr. Krauthammer; Obama is holding back in HOPE that something will magically CHANGE Detroit’s predicament (which seems to be his approach to most crises) only because he knows the fiscal impact when other cities see this new entitlement now available to them. In the meantime I’m sure he has a team preparing for the likelihood that he’ll have to push for a bailout and will have to demonize those hard-hearted Republicans to get it.

Take a good look at what’s happening in Detroit. It is our national future with the exceptions of the bankruptcy and bailout options. Even then as the walls collapse around us, they (the left) will wail and fiddle with no clue as to why. Actually they will be screaming above the carnage that “It’s Bush’s Fault!” As Obama’s last campaign slogan proclaimed, FORWARD…

Detroit A Glimpse of the Future of the United States

Still Bush Fault Question

History - 1775 - Paul Revere Ride - British are Coming (color) - 004“I’m not here as a serf or a vassal. I’m not begging my lords for mercy. I’m a born free American woman. Wife, mother, and citizen. And I’m telling my government that you’ve forgotten your place. It is not your responsibility to look out for my well-being and to monitor my speech. It’s not your right to assert an agenda. Your post, the post that you occupy, exists to preserve American liberty. You’ve sworn to perform that duty, and you have faltered.”Becky Gerritson (American Patriot) testifying concerning the IRS’ political targeting and persecution of conservative organizations.

Mrs. Gerritson is a true American patriot. She has been put through hell by bullies and aspiring tyrants in the Internal Revenue Service AND higher ups in the Obama Administration. Many of her tormentors are still protected by the system, and by the anonymity it provides. The power and will to do her harm is still out there and yet she summons the courage to testify before Congress and the American people of the tyranny afoot. May God bless and protect her.
