People - Cornyn, McConnelThe Establishment Republicans have cast their lot with the Democrats. They actually did it years ago but have somehow hid it. And I admit this is largely the fault of conservatives. We so hope for some meaningful opposition to the road to hell we as a nation are on, that we have been willing to bestow principles on those who don’t have them, and never will. I hope (and think) the fooling and pretending are getting harder and harder to do. It’s time the charlatans are exposed and I’ll continue to try and do my little part.

In the latest example, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Whip John Cornyn (from Texas) are siding with Harry Reid. Behind the scenes they “are actively whipping Senators to shut down debate on the House continuing resolution so that Harry Reid can gut it with just 51 votes.” (Senior Staffer in Senate) This means they are using their positions to pressure other Republicans to allow amendments (with just 51 votes) against the House Bill to continue funding the government (minus Obamacare) as led by Texas Senator Ted Cruz. The amendments they (Establishment Republicans) want to allow is for the reinstatement of the Obamacare funding.

The Democrats aren’t leading the fight to push the Obamacare train-wreck forward, the Establishment Republicans are doing it for them. “To be clear, nobody is fighting harder to make sure Obamacare is funded than Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn.” (Senior Staffer in Senate)

And I would be OK with that. I would even respect it… IF these guys would own up to what they are doing instead of this behind-closed-doors crap. But they intend to continue (as they have for years) to do one thing (we’ll call that substance) and put forth the image of something else (we’ll call that appearances). The “Me-Too” party has learned this lesson well from their co-conspirators.

Sure, both McConnell and Cornyn have publicly stated that they oppose a filibuster from Cruz to prevent Reid from adding funding for Obamacare to the continuing resolution (government funding)… but with the other hand they point Reid to another avenue, another back-door to accomplish the same thing. Not only that they run interference for the Majority Leader. It’s disingenuous at best.

And once they have helped the Democrats to defeat Cruz, the House, and us (conservatives); they will switch to appearance mode. They will then vote AGAINST Reid’s amendment that they made possible in the first place.

“I intend to support the House bill that defunds Obamacare and will vote against a bill that funds it.” — Senator John Cornyn (on Tweeter)

“Once it’s a 51-vote threshold, both McConnell and Cornyn will hide behind a ‘no’ vote on Reid’s amendment—so they will have yet another show vote.” (Senior Staffer in Senate) Again, appearance over substance.

I would say it is time… but it’s not. It is past time (years past time) for conservatives to realize that the Republican Party is not only not our friends, but are our enemies. They smile, they pretend, the talk the talk, but that’s all there is. Their actions, (the substance behind who they are), are against us. WE (conservatives are the RINOs) and we need to stop pretending and move on.

The meaning behind “I Am the RINO”.
I’ve always called many of the old Republican stalwarts RINOs (Republican in Name Only)… but lately I’ve come to question that label as it applies to them. When you hear someone use the term. It really means the individual is not “conservative” as if “Republican” and “conservative” are synonymous. They’re not. They never were. And I’ve decided never will be.

I’ve come to question if the likes of John McCain are RINOs. Now I think maybe HE is what the Republican Party was, is, and always will be… which means I’ve been the RINO all along. One thing is for sure… ONE of us is a RINO. And now, I’ve reached a point where I don’t know which. And I’ve reached a point where I don’t really care. I just want the question settled so we can part ways, amicably or not.

Concept - Credibility - DictionaryWe (and by “we” I mean Obama and his administration) have really screwed the pooch on this one. It’s just the latest example of the wages of “Pussy Diplomacy”.

Our main problem with Syria (and our foreign policy in general) is in the value of words. Words mean things. People, (and governments and tyrants) watch them and the actions that follow to back them up… they then place value (capitol) on the words based on how true the original words were. (On a side note this is a currency still accumulated and spent on the world stage… but has completely lost its value domestically. Here rhetoric is king thanks to the Main Stream Media.)

We (and by “we” I mean Obama) have little or no capitol in our words. Our enemies don’t fear us (because of the past actions behind our words); and our allies don’t trust us. And who can blame either of them?

Instead of rehashing all the situations that have brought us to this low point, you can read my previous entry (Been There, Done That, Doing it Again – The Consequences of Being Seen as American Pussies).

People - Obama, Barack - Red LineOne More Example:
I will recount one instance here that happened since that posting that is a great example of the problem I am describing. It’s even specific to Syria.

Of course Obama talked big a year or so ago; warning Syria not to use Chemical weapons… or else that would be a “red line”. Of course this was nothing less than Obama spending the capitol of words backed by the actions of previous Presidents. As an amateur he gave no thought to the capitol that would need to be built by his actions. Obama understands only the concept of spending and consuming… not saving or building up.

When that line was obviously crossed months ago… Obama hemmed and hawed and finally… finally… announced that we would send “small arms” to the rebels fighting Assad. Everybody knew this was wuss-out. He might as well have sent them boxes of condoms to throw at Assad’s tanks and jets. But that’s not the end of it… He didn’t even follow through on that meager threat. Nothing to date has been sent. He wussed-out on the wuss-out. His words… his threat… meant nothing. The man IS an amateur and a pussy!

As I said a couple of weeks ago… “If we say we’ll act when a line is crossed, we act. If we’re not really willing to act then we shut the $#@# up! Just doing what we say will go a long way in gaining the respect we need to operate in the world.”

Now the line is crossed again. And Obama seems ready to act this time. No really… Assad has gone tooooo far…

So Obama says this is “not about regime change” so Assad can rest assured he isn’t going anywhere. There will be no boots on the ground and this will be an exercise that is completed in hours, not days, so Assad can just wait it out. We can do this anytime we want (days, weeks, months) so we’re not really committing to anything here other than lobbing a few hundred missiles at most. And even though he doesn’t need it; he’s going to let Congress vote on it, seeking their approval; but it’s not so important that we’re going to actually call them in now. We’ll just wait until they get back.

All this is just another look at amateur hour.

And where are our allies in all of this? The UK? They’re out. Germany? Nope. Italy? Insists on a U.N. mandate (which is laughable). France? Still In? One out of four… and the one is France! But again, who can blame them. I don’t. Our words no longer have any value. Depend on actions behind the words or Barack Obama and you’re bound to get screwed. Just ask Dr. Shakil Afridi doing 33 years in a Pakistan prison for helping us get Osama bin Laden.

Sure all this is Obama’s fault. His words and actions on the world stage; which I term “pussy diplomacy” is little more than one “amateur” mistake after another.

But what did we expect from a junior Senator with little or no experience in anything other than rabble rousing (community organizing) and teaching a few college classes. Sure he’s pretty (hansom), and talks the talk (rhetoric), and… and… that’s about it. But that seems to be all you need to be President of the United States these days.

I guess what I’m saying is we get the government (and President) we deserve… and boy are we getting it. Twice now! Buy hey, who can really put a value on a “light-skinned African American with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.” — Harry Reid. Just look at the dividends that fact is paying in domestic policy and race relations.

People - Obama, Barack - Mickey Mouse EarsNow What?
So where do we go from here?

Long term? We as an American people need to elect real men (I don’t mean this as sexist) to the office of the Presidency. Rank amateurs no matter their skin pigmentation are still rank amateurs. Even Bill Clinton knew that.

“Obama doesn’t know how to be president. He doesn’t know how the world works. He’s incompetent. He’s an amateur!” — Bill Clinton

“A few years ago, this guy (Obama) would be getting us coffee.” — Bill Clinton (reportedly to Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.))

Short term? I’ll admit I’m not sure what we need to do in Syria. My complaint and this post has more to do with how and why we are in such bad shape globally and diplomatically.

As in most of the Middle East, there are few if any good guys in these conflicts. If the rebels were half-way decent (not Sharia-law pushing radical extremists) and really wanting democracy and freedom… I’d say we take action. Real action and make sure they won. I would even be willing to help… If I thought they would set up a dictator or junta that was favorable to us for a decade or two; but I don’t.

They’re not our friends. They’re Islamic (which is the antipathy of democracy and freedom). And not the watered down Islam we pretend is prevalent (there or here). They’re nut-jobs vying for power; who will kill Jews and Christians (and their own people) and turn on us at their first opportunity. Who needs this crap?

Religion - Islam - Symbol and Book

The Obama “plan” (if it could be called that) will not protect the people being slaughtered by Assad or from the next tyrant who will take his place if we get him. As Obama campaigns (the only thing he is good at) to try and convince Congress and the American people that we should lob a limited number of missiles at Syria; to convince me, he’s got to show me a real plan to really help those people AND protect our interests over there. But this would have to appeal to reason and facts, which is not something Obama can do… his only tool is emotional manipulation. With that said, and with the understanding of what Obama has planned right now… I say No.

We need to shift our Middle East policy to reflect that we have few friends in the Muslim world; and if we do they’re really just rich secularist dictators from a Muslim culture. We need to weigh the benefits to us and take actions that support those benefits… and that’s it. We need value for our buck and nothing else. If anybody over there wants to be our “friends” let them prove it first.

The Syrian rebels want our help? OK. A few questions first. How will you purge the Al Qaeda elements in your ranks? What do you have to offer in return and what will you do to guarantee delivery? And please understand your answer will directly affect the level of support… if any…

Main Stream Media - Bias - Bet Your Sweet AssHave you heard about this in the news? Here’s an excerpt…

The big white gate flew open. The bull came out bucking. The rider flopped from side to side and the bullfighters held back, letting the bull make his moves until the rider dropped off. Licciardello crouched in a heavily padded barrel, a human target should the bull decide to charge. Hawkins waited near the barrel, holding his big inner tube. A dummy with a mask of the President stood beside the clown, propped up by a broomstick…

T.J. Hawkins rolled out the big inner tube, and the bull lowered his head, shot forward and launched into the tube, sending it bounding down the center of the arena. The crowd cheered. Then the bull saw the Presidential dummy. He tore into it, sending the rubber mask flying halfway across the sand as he turned toward the fence, sending cowboys scrambling up the fence rails, hooking one with his horn and tossing him off the fence.

Of course the key to this story was the dummy wearing the mask of the President. It raises a lot of questions.

Was this stunt disrespectful to the Office of the President of the United States? Was it protected by Free Speech?

Was it disrespectful to the person of the President of the United States?

Was there a racial component?

What should happen to the clowns and announcers and management who instigated and carried out this stunt at a rodeo? Apologies? Resignations? Fired? Banned?

Maybe all the clowns should be sent to “sensitivity training”?

What about calls for DOJ and Secret Service investigations, this stunt implied violence against a dummy representing a sitting President after all?

Concept - BullshitLuckily none of these things happened. If there were a few people offended, they blew it off as the opposition having a bit of harmless fun at their guy’s expense. No one resigned, no one was banned, no one apologized, no one was fired, and no one went to sensitivity training. And the absurd idea of an investigation by anybody was never brought up if it even ever crossed anybody’s mind.

Really, I don’t even know why I’m bringing this up. It never even made the national news and the local guys barely covered it other than a puff piece or two describing the fun to be had at the rodeo.

Why would anyone give a second thought to a dummy with a mask of H.W. Bush being pummeled by a bull at a rodeo… 20 years ago? Which is, of course, the event I’m referencing to here. What did you think I was talking about?

Ohhh… Yeah… pretty well ALL of the Bullshit that didn’t happen 20 years ago DID happen this year (2013). It’s hard to pin down what’s different other than the political party and race of the Presidential effigy pummeled then and now. But, of course, that’s exactly the criteria that caused the Mainstream Media and Leftist, and Race Pimps to throw their latest hyper-sensitive hissy fit.

Liberal Media Bias? … You Bet Your Sweet Ass. Of course let’s not let the Race Pimps like the NAACP off the hook either. Hypocrites one and all.

* [In the original puff piece quoted (from the Philadelphia Inquirer) the article mentioned the name of the President depicted (H.W. Bush) I edited that part out to help make my point.]

Comic - Shoe - 2013 08 07 - Fishnet Stockings

I’m reduced to citing inside jokes on my blog. So I’ll explain… because the inside jokes do say something about society and how work environments evolve to deal with the absurd.

At a previous employer in Houston, everyone was keenly aware of the politically correct atmosphere we had to work in. It was of course a leftist code of acceptance and almost Big Brother-ish. We (the employees) even came to make fun of the corporate BS in that we developed codes words, phrases and… inside jokes into our daily vernacular.

For example… In Houston, the police (as long as I lived there) had to raid city parks from time to time to stop all the homosexuals who would gather and proposition each other for sex in the bushes and bathrooms. The homosexuals would dissipate but soon would be gathering at another park. Cue the “Circle of Life” music.

A co-worker who jogged in Memorial park had a story for us at lunch one day. He had been propositioned in such a manner the evening before. The story involved him taking a break half way through his run and watching a game of some type (involving young black men) that was also very verbose. They were talking trash. Unknown to my friend anyone who stopped running in Memorial park was assumed to be asking for it. It, being robbed or… well, you know…

He was quickly approached by another man who broke the ice by saying “I can’t understand a word they are saying, and I’m a linguist.” The conversation went decidedly down-hill from there.

It was an interesting and funny (at the coworker’s expense) story. But the really interesting thing is from that point forward the noun “linguist” replaced any and all references to homosexuals within the office. And if you were ever trying to explain something technical or requiring some degree of cognitive deduction… someone was bound to say “I can’t understand a word you’re saying, and I’m a linguist.”

Another interesting phrase that cropped up in the office vernacular was “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.” If a conversation ever brought up a question of ethics, morality, or decent behavior… someone would immediately chime in “Not that there’s anything wrong with that”, implying the understood social norm that anything and everything is acceptable.

And that’s where we find ourselves today. Nothing is off limits other than judging something to be off-limits.

Sure, linguists approach and proposition anyone running in a park that has the gall to stop and catch their breath as he and his buddies hook up in the bushes and bathroom stalls. The police encourage them to move on to the next rendezvous every few months… Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

PeasObamacare is the law of the land. Enacted by Democrats (and a handful of RINOs) and upheld by the Supreme Court. It should be implemented as prescribed by the law passed.

And that’s the problem… or the death nail depending on your perspective.

If Obamacare was a meal, we would be well into the dessert course right now. Kids on parents insurance until 26, no denial for pre-existing conditions, and a few other benefits. The problem with this meal is dessert was served first. Everybody likes dessert (free stuff). But the peas… the peas (paying for it) are coming, and the process of preparing the peas is what many (including Democrats) have called a train wreck.

Obama (his administration) set aside a big helping of the peas today (July 3rd, 2013) delaying the “employer mandate” until 2015. If that date doesn’t’ ring any bells a better description of it would be “after the next round of elections”. Peas before or during an election are bad for the guys who dish them up; especially if they were elected on promises of “dessert for everyone, all the time; NO peas ever.”

Nobody Happy:
Obamacare is one of those messes where nobody is happy.

    Republicans aren’t happy because:

  1. They won’t it gone but can’t get rid of it.
  2. It going to hurt the economy and businesses.
  3. It’s another social program that will just expand the entrench big government.
    Democrats aren’t happy because:

  1. They thought it would be a slam dunk because they controlled both houses of Congress and the Presidency. That worked just fine for passing it… but now they have to implement it; without all that power.
  2. They thought it would be a slam dunk to get the people to eventually support it. They had the MSM behind them after all. [I would have made that bet too, but it didn’t work out.]
  3. They are pissed that Republicans (who now control the House) have blocked their efforts for more funding. They call this “obstruction”. [More on that below.]
  4. The behemoth bureaucracy needed to implement and run this thing is proving to be more incompetent than they expected. [The IRS corruption isn’t helping matters.]

GOP Obstruction:
With Obama’s announcement of delaying implementing the “employer mandate” the Democrats are trying to shift the blame for this (cover our asses) political decision to the Republicans; saying it’s their fault because they have obstructed implementation.

To an extent they are right… if you define “obstruction” as not giving them more money (a lot more money) than Obamacare was initially “projected” to cost. That is about the only power the Republicans have had (because they control the House which controls the purse strings). But it’s the Democrats who told the GOP to go suck and egg as far as drafting this piece of crap but then (because they needed to lie on the costs) gave the GOP the means to screw them over.

They Knew:
What do I mean by that? When the Democrats passed Obamacare they knew, KNEEEWWW that it would cost more (A LOT MORE) than they were appropriating for implementation. This was a cover your ass move on their part. They needed their fiscal “moderates” to be able to get re-elected. Their logic was, we control the government and we’ll just appropriate more when the time comes. So the bureaucrats burnt though the cash, the time came, AND the Democrats no longer had control of the purse strings.

They were like a contractor low balling a bid with the intention of demanding more money to finish the job. The problem being, the guys who inherited paying the bill didn’t want the job done in the first place. So the Republicans response has been “Do it for what you said it would cost… or don’t do it… guess which one we prefer.” (This is called “obstruction” by the Democrats.) And to be honest with you that’s exactly what I want the GOP to do.

What’s Fair:
Democrats should implement their law as they passed it and let the new health care system succeed or fail on its merits. To be fair that’s what needs to happen. Not that the Democrats have much choice in the matter right now.

Creative Funding:
So what do you do when you want something funded but have already spent all the money with the job half done? Sure the Dems have a chance to get more money from the exorbitant insurance premiums from the young’uns they convince to join (or fines from those who don’t); but that’s months down the road and they need money to spread the propaganda to convince them (the young’uns) to join.

To date, the Democratic plan has been for Kathleen Sebelius to shake down businesses (who have interests before her department) to try and get them to donate money to leftist organizations who will try to pull off the propaganda. This is one of those things where if a Republican had done it, he’d be in jail… but laws like this were passed to keep Republicans in check; not leftist or Democrats.

The Obama administration has also tried to recruit Hollywood (successfully) and Sports (NFL, NBA, etc) (not so successfully) to join in the propaganda campaign. Hopefully these guys (NFL, NBA… Hollywood not a chance) will have enough common sense to stay out of it.

I’m sure we’ll see more creative (some legal and some not so much) solutions to this problem. You can also be dam sure the Democrats will continue to throw hissy-fits concerning GOP “obstruction”. The key will be the 2014 Elections. And Obama seems to have put all his eggs in that basket. If the Democrats don’t take the House and maintain the Senate their options remain limited.

But the key to this debacle is simple. If the Democrats hadn’t lied about the cost of Obamacare (and they controlled both Houses… they didn’t have to do that) they wouldn’t be in the mess they are in today. They made this bed and hopefully they will eventually have to lie on it. But for now the consequence are put off again. By the time we are forced to eat any of those dam peas they’re going to be pretty rancid.

Logo - General Mills - 002June 2013 was “Gay Pride Month” and General Mills decided it would use its Lucky Charms cereal to celebrate and endorse the gay agenda. They started out with a campaign where you go to their web site and post a message (maybe to twitter or something) with the hash tag of #LuckyToBe. This ties in with the Lucky Charms cereal with the little Leprechaun running around. The marshmallow rainbows come into play somehow.

I could be wrong [Yeah, I know, very doubtful], but from what I’ve seen General Mills took the “have our cake and eat it too” approach in their support and love of the gay community/agenda. They conspicuously omitted their logo, and brands from the sites and advertising [Something some of us are happy to help them correct]. They tried to limit their advertising of their support to the leftist community.

Their press release to GLADD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) read “We’re celebrating Pride month with whimsical delight, magical charms, and two new rainbow marshmallows. If you’re lucky enough to be different, we’re celebrating you.” Do you think they sent that press release to anyone who might get the message out to middle class moms out there?

This is one of those circumstances that confirms that leftist agendas and hypocrisy goes hand in hand.
