Rome - Fall of Empire[Our society is doomed. And there are certain signs of this: religious, political, and social. Here’s one…]

Cats. Or more precisely “men” afraid of cats.

So there is this cat in Oregon; (granted it’s a big cat (22 lbs)), and it attacks a baby and the father kicks it in the butt and the cat goes crazy and attacks the family… So far I could see myself in this situation, except for owning or cohabitating with a cat, but I digress.

So what does this “man”, Lee Palmer, do? He herds himself, his “partner”, and kid into a bedroom and calls 911 (after animal control doesn’t answer). OK, so this is another problem… 911 actually sends police, not to arrest this guy for wasting their time, but to catch the cat. And here’s another problem; the only thing that happens to the cat is… IT GOES TO THERAPY! (I’m not making this @#$% up!)

My Take:
If I ever call anybody, much less 911, to come save me from a cat! It had better be a 400lb tiger and I’d better be out of ammunition! Otherwise, when authorities arrive, I beg them to leave the cat alone and shoot me as a service to society to protect the gene pool. Obviously it’s too late for that in this case.

Cat - FreeAt least I’m not alone. Watching Bill O’Reilly last night with Dennis Miller; they seemed to concur. Bill said his response would have been to grab a bat and turn the cat into a ground rule double. Miller added that he’d drop the cat just for looking at him funny… “You lookin’ at me!?”

A hint to all you “men” out there with pussy (as in wimp) problems… deal with this $%#@ yourself. If the government disappearing tomorrow means that you (and your family) would very likely die (right behind pajama boy) you’re not living up to your duties or potential as a man.

And a hint to all you women out there… If your “man” is calling 911 to protect you and your kid from a cat; you have made a huge mistake in your “partner” selection.

I have questions:
What does this “man” look like? I’ve seen pictures of the cat. I’ve seen pictures of the “partner” and kid… but nowhere have I seen the actual “man” involved here. I can only hope it is out of some since of shame.

Where are Lee Palmer’s male friends who would ever let him to live this down, much less, instil into him some manly clue as to never allow it to happen in the first place?

Can we at least make sure this doesn’t happen again with a little castration; surgical, chemical or otherwise… the “man”… not the cat?

And another sign we’re doomed…

Roy Ortiz (an illegal immigrant) is considering suing the first responders who pulled him out of a submerged car in a flash flood in Colorado. Why? Because they didn’t initially know he was in the car and thus took too long to discover that fact and take action. His injuries? His “shoulder” hurts and he has “bad dreams.”

This SOB needs to be soundly beaten and then he AND his lawyer should be flung over the Rio Grand River. I’m sure some industrious red-necks could design, and build a contraption that could accomplish that feat (like those pumpkin chunkers). I volunteer to pull the leaver.

People - Obama, Barack - Throw Like a GirlPerception is Reality:
Let me start out by saying that when Obama ordered the closing of scores of embassies and consulates in the Middle East (08/04/2013), he made the right decision. Keeping our people safe is the right thing to do, especially when we find ourselves in our current predicament.

That said… It’s finding ourselves in our current predicament and why we are here that’s the problem.

When Osama Bin Laden attacked the United States on September 11, 2001, he expected the United States to lob a few missiles from a warship in response. He saw the United States as weak and lacking in resolve. Why? Well, in his own words in December of 1998 (Osama bin Laden: American Soldiers Are Paper Tigers)…

“We have seen in the last decade the decline of the American government and the weakness of the American soldier. He is ready to wage cold wars but unprepared to fight hot wars. This was proven in Beirut when the Marines fled after two explosions, showing they can run in less than twenty-four hours. This was then repeated in Somalia. We are ready for all occasions, we rely on God…”

People - Osama bin Laden - Tent in Camo

“After leaving Afghanistan they headed for Somalia and prepared for a long battle, thinking that the Americans were like the Russians. They were surprised when the Americans entered with 300,000 troops… The youth were surprised at the low morale of the American soldiers and realized more than before that the America soldiers are paper tigers. After a few blows, the Americans ran away in defeat.”

“After a few blows, they forgot about being the world leader and the leader of the new world order. They left, dragging their corpses and their shameful defeat, and stopped using such titles. They learned in America that this name [i.e., God] is larger than them.”

Why would he think that? Well… back in August of 1998 Muslim terrorists (al Qaeda) attacked American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, killing 224 people (12 Americans) and injuring 5,000.

Our response by then President Bill Clinton? Operation Infinite Reach! (Insert dramatic crescendo here) Which translates to… we lobbed about 75 cruise missiles at a few targets (mostly camps) in Afghanistan AND we lobbed a few more at a pharmaceutical factory in Sudan. Problem solved!

It was after this that Osama Bin Laden became a wanted man. U.S. Intelligence either couldn’t find him or didn’t consider him a high priority. I guess it was a higher priority for John Miller of ABC News who found him in the mountains of southern Afghanistan in order to do an interview that yielded the quotes above.

Of course there was also the attack on the U.S.S. Cole a couple of years later and our response… about the same.

2011 09 11 - Twin TowersThe Consequences:
This attitude eventually lead to 246 dead on four airliners, 125 dead at the Pentagon, 2,606 dead at the World Trade Center; at the cost of 19 Muslim hijackers.

My point in remembering all these events is this. It was our weakness, actual and perceived, that led to 911. Osama bin Laden got more than he bargained for in Bush and the United States. I guess he didn’t study history very well or thought it no longer applied. He woke the sleeping giant and that giant opened up a can of whoop-ass on him.

But now, through great effort from the left, and complacency on the right; that giant has returned to square one. We are sleepy, complacent, and in the eyes of our enemies wimpy and weak.

President Barack Obama cited Guantanamo, our bad reputation with Muslims, and Bush’s cowboy diplomacy with being a big al Qaeda recruiting tool. And maybe he had a point. He made dam sure that would no longer be the case (except for Guantanamo in which case the Republicans stopped him). But now we’re faced with an even bigger recruiting tool for terrorist. Being seen as a pussy again. But why would they come to think of us that way again? Because it’s practically the only message we’re sending them…

2013 - Guantanamo Protestors

Prisoners of War:
We coddle our captured enemies in Guantanamo. We give them TV, libraries, a soccer field; and all the while we ring our hands about the morality and injustice of keeping them (prisoners of war) in the first place. We release many who simply return to the battle field. As for those we still keep; we consider bringing them to our home soil, extending to them rights that our citizens enjoy and few (foreign) Muslims can even conceive. Who could watch this absurdity and not think we are a bunch of idiots and pussies?

2013 - Rolling Stone - Terrorist CoverHome Grown Terrorists:
Look at what we do to Americans who join our enemies. Back during World War II they would have been quickly tried and hung (or shot). Today, we take years to actually hold a trial. We allow them to make a mockery of our justice system. In some cases we don’t even acknowledge what they are (terrorists). We call their terrorists attacks “work place violence”. We glorify them on covers of magazines (for money). Who could watch this absurdity and not think we are a bunch of idiots and pussies?

Declaring Victory:
We announce strategic information for political purposes. When will our commitment to Iraq or Afghanistan end? Here’s the date within a few month window. Just sit tight; then you’ll have free reign again. We declare our enemies to be “on their heels” and that “wars must end” as if our very words make it so; facts be dammed. We not only demonstrate a lack of commitment or resolve, we announce it to the world. Who could watch this absurdity and not think we are a bunch of idiots and pussies?

Our Friends:
Our policy towards Israel is that they should immolate us; in respect to pussy diplomacy. We pressure Israel to capitulate and not target or respond as their enemies build nuclear weapons. This is what we do to our only real ally in the entire region.

Our main informant that made it even possible to kill Osama bin Laden, Dr. Shakil Afridi, is in prison in Pakistan. He has been sentenced to 33 years and his family claims he is now being tortured. How did he get there? Instead of getting him and his family out of the country like we promised; we leaked the information that identified him. After he was arrested we just let him rot. Sure we talked big but what is that worth when your target knows talk is all it is. Pakistan told us to “respect their legal process” which is Arabic for “go $#@* youself”.

The U.S. through Barack Obama betrays our allies and supporters.

Dr Afridi isn’t the only ally we’ve screwed and continue to screw. Congress set aside 5000 visas to help and protect informants and translators who help us in Afghanistan. 200 have been approved, and the bureaucratic process is mind-numbingly slow. We let thousands who will do little more than suck off the public tit cross our borders every day, but actually help us defend American lives… actually take up arms and kill our enemies… actually put your life and that of your family at risk? You wait… we need to be extra careful with you. This is even after our embassies and military generals do their part (quickly) to vouch for the invaluable service these guys provide.

Who could watch this absurdity and not think we are a bunch of idiots and pussies?

Response to Attacks:
On the anniversary of 911 or enemies organize, attack, and burn a U.S. Consulate. They kill four Americans in the process, including our Ambassador, Christopher Stevens. Our response? Declare the attack as “a spontaneous demonstration”; shift blame to an internet video we know had nothing to do with it; we even imprison the creator of the video. We then proceed with a massive cover up. We bribe or bully our citizens who were there to keep quiet. Our Secretary of State chastises the people who make a minimal effort to find out what happened by saying “At this point, what difference does it make”. The President himself calls attempts to uncover the truth “false scandals”.

2012 - Benghazi Burns

2012 - Benghazi Molehill

And as for accountability to the terrorist perpetrators? Almost a year later we have finally taken decisive action AND Federal authorities have filed the first criminal charges. Your heard me. We’ve filled out paperwork on the bastards! That’ll teach them to mess with us.

An idiot congressman (Adam Schiff ) on the House Intelligence Committee explained our “progress” this way.

“It’s been frustrating for many of us that it hasn’t moved faster, but it is a very difficult working environment for our agents. Gathering evidence in Libya, you might imagine, is very difficult, finding, interviewing witnesses, extremely difficult. We have identified many of the parties involved. We’re still trying to identify what the command-and-control structure would be. A lot of missing pieces still, but we are finally making progress.”

Translation: We’re back to the mindset of treating these acts not as terrorism, or even acts of war, we’re treating them like a crime… sort of like robbing a liquor store.

Who could watch this absurdity and not think we are a bunch of idiots and pussies?

United Nations - Host TyrantsForeign Respect:
We host and assembly of dictators and thugs on our own soil who routinely denounce us and thwart our diplomatic efforts. We invite our enemies to come and mock us. Our universities embrace them with crowds of adoring (leftist) students.

Foreign dictators give us a total screwing even when there’s nothing really to be gained. They do it simply for the pleasure of doing it. Our traitors find refuge with ease. We don’t even put that much pressure or effort into getting them back.

Talk to China or Russia about giving up an American traitor? Obama’s response? “I have not called President Xi personally or President Putin personally and the reason is … number one, I shouldn’t have to.”

President Obama is absolutely correct in that statement, “shouldn’t” being the key word. And he “wouldn’t” have to if not for the fact that both nations, the dictators involved (and pretty well the whole world) know he’s a pussy.

But it’s more than just that. Obama finds himself in the same position of a mad little boy who has once again lost his lunch money to a bully. He could fight and even likely get a bloody nose; but that embarrassment is worse than anything he can imagine… so he avoids the confrontation and his reputation (and ours) solidifies further.

So Obama cancels his meeting with Putin. He had to. To use the urban vernacular, Putin (and just about everybody else) has treated Obama like a bitch from day one. Someone in Obama’s position doesn’t sit down across from a bully who has repeatedly bent him over without reminding everyone in the world which one of the two is always on the receiving end. The really sad part is watching Obama try and explain his relationship with Putin…

2013 - Obama Putin Meeting - Frosty

Michele: “Is Putin still picking on you?”

Barry: No, No… we’re buds, we have a great relationship. 🙂

Michele: Do you have your lunch money today?

Barry: Ummm… no I gave it to my buddy, Putin.

Michele: Where’s your “Snowden” bicycle?

Barry: (in a hushed voice) Putin’s uhhh… borrowing it… I didn’t like it that much anyway…

Michele: Are you sure everything’s OK between you two?

Barry: Great! great… love the guy…

Conclusion:
Who could watch this absurdity and not think we are a bunch of idiots and pussies? Thus we find ourselves in a position where we must close our embassies and consulates. We must hide. And we’ll keep doing that until we elect a leader (years from now) with some balls; and even then he’ll have to use them effectively for some time before we regain what we’ve lost under Obama and the Democrats.

2013 00 00 - Zimmerman Trial - In ChainsWell, the George Zimmerman case has wrapped up and it will go to the jury this week. My prediction is guilty of manslaughter, though no verdict would surprise me.

The case has basically confirmed three things in my mind.
1. Our criminal justice system is dysfunctional.
2. The Main Stream Media is shameless in its pushing of racial strife.
3. Race relations are horrible in this nation and not likely to get any better any time soon.

Our Criminal Justice System:
This all started with the OJ Simpson verdict. The whole system was afraid of racial riots and conducted the trial accordingly. In the end, the jury found the murderer not guilty simply because he was black. Who thinks race relations or our jury system has gotten any better since that trial twenty years ago. If anything both have gotten worse… by design.

2013 00 00 - Zimmerman Trial - OJ TrialIf not for race… If not for the left pushing and pimping race… If not for the Main Stream Media pushing and pimping race for ratings (and agenda)… George Zimmerman never would have been arrested, much less charged/indicted or tried.

Several checks within the criminal justice system had to fail for this case to ever see the inside of a courtroom. First the case was taken out of the hands of the local police and prosecutors for political/racial reasons. Even with the “special prosecutor” the grand jury system should have “no billed” (found not enough evidence to charge) the case. But by this time the snowball of political correctness was not going to be stopped by something as mundane as rule of law.

The Police Investigation:
What happened is a travesty to be clear, but Zimmerman’s use of deadly force was justified and the police who were investigating the incident at the time knew it.

Bill Lee, the former police chief fired because he wasn’t doing the political bidding of the leftist politicians in the case, had a bit to say on the matter.

  1. The Zimmerman investigation was “hijacked in a number of ways”.
  2. He was pressured by city officials to arrest Zimmerman to placate the public (as rouse by the Main Stream Media) rather than a matter of justice.
  3. “It was (relayed) to me that they just wanted an arrest. They didn’t care if it got dismissed later. You don’t do that.”
  4. His police department had performed a “sound” investigation, and the evidence provided no probable cause to arrest Zimmerman at the scene.
  5. This case had nothing to do with Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law, from an investigative standpoint, it was purely a matter of self-defense.
  6. The lead investigator did make the recommendation that Zimmerman be arrested for manslaughter. In response to this, the police requested that the prosecutors for the city make the determination if it were “justifiable homicide” (thus no charges), determine is was not and issue a warrant, or present the case to a grand jury for determination… But before that process was completed, the case was taken away and given to a special prosecutor.
  7. “The police department needed to do a job, and there was some influence — outside influence and inside influence — that forced a change in the course of the normal criminal justice process. With all the influence and the protests and petitions for an arrest, you still have to uphold your oath.” [But people unconcerned with oaths and justice took over.]
  8. Lee knew letting Zimmerman walk for 46 days would be unpopular but he was concerned with upholding the rule of law so they (his department) took the abuse… “they performed professionally. That’s the mark of a strong police department.”
  9. “I upheld my oath. I’m happy that at the end of the day I can walk away with my integrity.”

The Prosecution:
2013 00 00 - Zimmerman Trial - Racial ProtestsNormally, the lack of evidence supporting prosecution would be a problem; but when race is the overwhelming factor the rule of law can be set aside (see OJ Simpson). And setting the law aside is exactly what the prosecution has had to do in order to have a trial. The prosecution’s case is essentially that they want to try Zimmerman for one thing (profiling) and proving that, convict him of another (murder or manslaughter). And the judge (see below), keenly aware of the political and racial powder keg she is sitting on, is eager to oblige.

Some of those involved in this farce are keenly aware that the charges are bullshit. But they move forward anyway; rationalizing the rights and freedom of a “White Hispanic” (as he is called by the MSM) guy is a small enough price to pay to avoid the possibility of rioting and looting. The continued racial strife in the nation and the revenue that goes with that are just an added bonus.

Granted, the prosecution was always in a tough spot in that they had to prove a case with a preponderance of the evidence against them. But I still say each and every member of the prosecution had to set aside their integrity to join that team; especially when you look at what they had to present instead of evidence.

The message is clear to the jury. You have to convict this “white” man because he shot a black boy and pissed off people who may eventually riot. Even if you’re white you have to convict to prove you’re not a racist AND to help us curtail violence and looting that may follow acquittal.” (And that is exactly what has been threatened.)

Immaterial:
Name Tag - IrrelevantSome aspects presented in this case are pretty well immaterial… or in layman’s terms bullshit…

Stand Your Ground Law: The “stand your ground law”? You don’t have much choice on standing your ground with someone on top of you hitting you in the face (thus the broken nose) and slamming your head against the pavement (the gashes however “minor”). In the next split second you could be out with all decisions as to your fate now in the hands of your attacker. The Sanford police said as much. This case was about simple self-defense, not stand your ground.

Profiling: While this may have grounds concerning the state of mind of Zimmerman, it’s not illegal. Even Jesse Jackson has said that he crosses the street to avoid black teens on a street corner. It’s not illegal.

2013 00 00 - Zimmerman Trial - 911 OperatorComply with 911 Operator: George Zimmerman did not comply with the request/instructions of the 911 operator to not follow the suspect (Martin). And I don’t blame him. His neighborhood was suffering through a rash of burglaries. Somebody had to do something if there was any hope of ever stopping them. The police (obviously) didn’t consider them a priority.

All that aside, the simple question concerning doing what the 911 operator instructed comes down to one question? Was he LEGALLY required to do so? And the answer is simply… NO.

You are not legally bound in any way to follow the instructions of a 911 operator. (I know that for a fact in Texas and suspect it’s the same in Florida.)

Houston, Texas (my old stomping ground) got a quick lesson in this years before the Zimmerman case. A man called 911 because his neighbor’s house was being robbed. He even stated in the call that there had been a rash of robberies in the neighborhood. He also told the operator to hurry and get someone there AND if that didn’t happen, he would confront the intruders with the shotgun he had in hand when they emerged. The 911 operator specifically told him not to do that. The police didn’t arrive in time, the burglars exited the home, the man laid down the phone went outside and told them to surrender. They didn’t and he shot (and killed) both of them.

The neighbor was white, the crooks minority. I don’t remember their specific “race” though I remember both had extensive criminal backgrounds and at least one was in the U.S. illegally.

The leftists in (Houston) City government were outraged and immediately began looking for a way to prosecute the neighbor. And the very first thing a few of them thought of was “he didn’t follow the instructions of the 911 operator”. Within 24 hours the leftist in City government backtracked on that like they were snake bit. First because they knew legally he had no obligation to do what the operator said. Second they could foresee the results of such a legal precedent.

What is the whole purpose of 911? To gather as much information about what is happening as they can so they can take the appropriate actions. What do the authorities want you to do more than anything else when you call 911? Provide as much information as you can (by talking). So what do they want to encourage you to do more than anything else? Talk.

But put the restriction on me that I have to do what a 911 operator tells me to do; when that operator isn’t there and may in fact be a dammed idiot… I can solve that problem real quick. I might call 911 but as soon as I do I’ll set the phone down. Even the liberal idiots running Houston saw that one coming from a mile off… and knew better.

Biased Judge Presiding:
The judge (Judge Debra Nelson) has been as incompetent as Alito though much less adept at hiding her bias in the case. It is obvious she is desperate for a conviction; some kind of conviction of Zimmerman; and you can tell she’s a bit worried about those prospects. Her recent testy exchange with Zimmerman concerning him testifying shows that much. She was so pissed (and it showed) at how things were going she broke all kinds of rules; especially in the timing of the exchange (before the defense had finished calling it’s witnesses). A reporter was noted as saying “I have never seen that in more than 30 years of court reporting.”

Judge Debra Nelson, for the Prosecution of George Zimmerman

Finally Judge Nelson has decided that things are going so poorly for her side (the prosecution) that she had better pull an ace out of her sleve and allow the jury to consider manslaughter. As I said earlier, I think it will work. This liberal judge has done everything she can to ensure it a guilty verdict. The fix is in.

Zimmerman’s Defense:
The defense team took the Mitt Romney approach to winning this thing. They figure facts, justice, and common sense will win out in the end. We’ll see.

Personally I wouldn’t have done that. Zimmerman’s main defense tactic should have been… doubling down on the race card.

Day, one Zimmerman should have demanded a Spanish interpreter for the trial (even if he doesn’t speak Spanish). He should have dressed Hispanic, adopted a Hispanic accent, discovered a Hispanic middle name (and insist on going by it), and pushed his cause among the Hispanic community with the message “The system (the media, left, and blacks) is about to lynch one of your Hispanic brothers for nothing more than defending himself; and next time it could be you.” And that message is, when you think about it, absolutely true.

Of course, it all too late for that…

The Media:
The media (especially the likes of CNN, MSNBC, and the New York Times) are pushing this case in terms of race. They are doing this for two reasons. First of course is money through ratings. But secondly they do it to promote the lefts agenda to divide the country by race.

The initial bias began early on with the media (pretty well all of them) pushing pictures of Trayvon as a boy years younger than what he actually was. The pictures they used of Zimmerman were equally slanted but toward the negative.

Pictures of Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman as Depicted by the Main Stream Media

The New York Times (and others) specifically decided to refer to Zimmerman “White Hispanic”. Why not just “Hispanic”? Because that would circumvent their agenda.

NBC was caught early on editing audio of the 911 call to present misleading information. They made it seem as if George Zimmerman was doggedly concerned with the race of the man he was following. He wasn’t. He was just answering the question posed by the 911 operator.

I could fill a hundred blogs with examples of MSM bias against Zimmerman and toward racial division. Zimmerman and his defense have had to deal with months and months of Main Stream Media lies and slander. Even today the vitriol is in full gear.

Case in Point (MSM Bias and Vitriol):
2013 00 00 - Zimmerman Trial - ABC - Dan AbramsDan Abrams (ABC News Legal Analyst and substitute anchor) recently appeared on Good Morning America and afterward posted an “article” (I hate to use this word because it implies journalism was involved when it wasn’t) on the ABC News site with the following.

“I drew a legal conclusion on ‘Good Morning America’ Saturday that would have surprised the Dan Abrams who covered the George Zimmerman case leading up to, and shortly after, his arrest.”

“Now that the prosecution’s case against Zimmerman is in, as a legal matter, I just don’t see how a jury convicts him of second degree murder or even manslaughter in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.”

“So what happened? How can an armed man who shot and killed an unarmed teen after being told by the police that he didn’t need to keep following him, likely be found not guilty of those crimes?”

“I certainly sympathize with the anger and frustration of the Martin family and doubt that a jury will accept the entirety of George Zimmerman’s account as credible. But based on the legal standard and evidence presented by prosecutors it is difficult to see how jurors find proof beyond a reasonable doubt that it wasn’t self-defense.”

As Abrams admits, he and the rest of the MSM convicted Zimmerman months ago; and questions how this guy weaseled out of their verdict in the actual trial. He laments that “as a legal matter” the jury has no real grounds to convict the man on murder or even manslaughter. What Abrams can’t see or admit is as a legal matter Zimmerman never should have been indicted; much less gone to trial.

“So what happened? How can an armed man…” Wait a minute Dan. Do you mean the legally (as in following the law) armed man?

“Who shot and killed an unarmed teen…” You mean the teen that did physical harm to Zimmerman with his bare hands? Sure you (the MSM) and the prosecution allege the injuries were minor and exaggerated… so OK make that case. But the man had a broken nose. At what point would the injuries by your standards be major enough to warrant deadly force? A cracked skull? Zimmerman would have been a fool (probably a dead fool) to wait until things reached that point.

2013 00 00 - Zimmerman Trial - Young TravonBut… I see that I’m making the mistake of looking at the facts. To Abrams this isn’t about facts thus his depiction of Zimmerman simply shooting an unarmed teen (Martin). It conjures up the emotional response Abrams wants and helps the draw attention away from the facts.

“after being told by the police that he didn’t need to keep following him”… Really Mr. Abrams? Is that a fact? So actual police officers man the 911 phones? So an “order” from a 911 operator carries the legal weight of a police officer telling you to do something? You’re a “legal analyst” after all, you should know…

Mr. Abrams does know… but as a leftist member of the MSM, the law is not what’s important here. Hanging George Zimmerman by whatever means necessary is.

Main Stream Media Side Note:
As a side note on the mainstream media. Most know the prosecution did not prove their case. They are beating their chests and rending their clothes in anguish (see Dan Abrams of ABC News). But a few (very few) know this is nothing but racial and have said as much.

Leftist, Juan Williams, of Fox News has admitted as much. I don’t agree with everything Juan says on the case; but I give him credit for calling a spade a spade.

Conclusion:
George Zimmerman is likely to go to prison for a long time, simply for the act of defending his own life. Not that he had time to consider it; but his choices where injury (and possibly death) at the hands of a young punk, OR prison at the hands of a corrupt (politically corrupt) society. It’s a sad statement on the state of our union and its moral and social “progression”. And it’s not going to get any better anytime soon.

Did I say Hate may be too strong?

I’ve always said that in its core, maybe semi-subconsciously, always bubbling up here and there… the left hates the U.S. of America. OK, maybe “hate” is too strong; but the left does show disdain for America and often sympathizes with her enemies.

Today:
Today, if you go to leftist rallies or protests; you can easily find images of Marx, Lennon, and Che Guevara. You’re much more likely to see the American flag burned, pooped on, or some other form of desecration.

Today the left tries to paint the Republicans, the Tea Party and Christians as they are themselves; as an angry, hate-filled, intolerant, mob. They support free speech only when it parrots their doctrine.

Embracing our enemies but no so much Free Speech

Today, the left embraces Islam as a “religion of peace”. They refuse to even use the words “terrorism” or “terrorists”. And when someone points out actions or words that aren’t so peaceful, they are labeled Islamophobic.

An Example:
An example of the blind embrace of our enemies: We have an attack on our embassy in Benghazi on September 11th no less. Our ambassador and two former marines protecting him are murdered. Any moron would instinctively know it was an organized Islamic terrorist attack based on two facts immediately available: 1) the attackers were well armed & 2) It happened on 9/11. But not the left (including our current Administration)… Noooo… they parrot the words of the terrorist that this was a “spontaneous protest” caused by some dumb-ass movie trailer. They even have the guy who made the trailer arrested.

Nothing New:
It was recently brought to my attention (by Dennis Prager) that the left’s disdain for America is nothing new; which in hindsight is obvious.

During the cold war, the left secretly adored the Communists while hating the anti-Communists. The anti-Communists were evil and judgmental; not protecting the way of life that has brought us freedom and prosperity for generations.

Why:
Over the decades, we see the left’s same attitude; same embrace of our enemies; and same elitist, snobbish, disdain. They have no interest in restoring America; because the great things she was and has achieved are embarrassments to the left. Thus they want to “fundamentally change” America; and unfortunately have to a large extent succeeded.

So I ask myself why this is so. Why does the left have such disdain for the country that has given them so much?

The explanation is this: Those who do not hate evil hate those who do hate evil. – Dennis Prager

This is a video that just surfaced of the Obamas attending a memorial for the victims of the 911 terror attack. It’s very short, but in it (as police and firefighters fold the flag to the sounds of marching bagpipes) Mrs. Obama leans to her husband and appears to say “all this just for a flag”.

Are these certainly her words, no; though her last word does seem to refer to the “flag” to me. What is certain is her trademark pursed lips and expression of disgust after the comment. Perhaps her disgust is at how they folded the flag; or carried the flag… but I don’t think so.

Is she showing disrespect for the flag? It’s not an unreasonable conclusion coming from someone who only recently in her adult life felt proud of her country.

Hat’s off to the men and women who finally tracked down the dirt-bag Osama bin Laden and to the President for seeing it through. I don’t know of anyone who thought he was in Afghanistan. Everyone I know/read said he was in Pakistan, but most thought he was in the mountains somewhere. It does give me pause to think he was living in comfort, probably protected by dirt-bags in the Pakistani government and military.

I personally thought he had sneaked into the U.S. and was posing as an exchange student while boarding with clueless middle-class family. Man was I way off.

Islam and OBL
Of course the root cause of all this mess is the “religion of peace itself.” Islam unfortunately creates an inferior and often barbaric society. I wouldn’t care if they could keep their nut-balls at home and/or under control. But they want to kill the Jews, infidels, and each other in that order. And when they managed to kill 3000 American infidels and the “moderates” within their “faith” refused to address or acknowledge their mess; then we had to take actions to make sure that doesn’t happen again. Those actions require us to deal with some dictators, depose others, and spend money. As a nation we will never agree on correct degree of action needed or taken; but surely we can agree that some action was necessary.

Osama bin Laden expected us to lob a few missiles his directions and move on. It was not an unreasonable assumption since this was the response to terrorism in the years leading up to the Bush Administration. The missiles would have been cheaper and given the appearance of action but I doubt they would have been very effective. OBL woke a sleeping giant and had 9 long years (and now an eternity in Hell) to contemplate that little miscalculation.

The Cost of War
Liberal circles and the Main Stream Media (redundant apologies) say that these wars have bankrupted us. If only we had minded our own business (by abandoning Israel) these Islamist would have left us alone, that money would have been saved, the budget balanced and the deficit well under control. That is just propaganda bull shit.

Liberal estimates of the cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan (as of May 2011) is 1.2 trillion since inception. ($788 Billion for Iraq and $401 Billion for Afghanistan) That’s about 8% of the current $14.3 trillion deficit.

Whether we should or should not be there (Iraq/Afghanistan/Libya) aside… these wars are not the cause of the financial crisis going on in the U.S.; or at most they are only about 8% of the problem. To really address the financial terrorism going on, we have to recognize that the enemy is within our borders and for the most part within the city limits of Washington D.C.

Back to Sleep
The sleeping giant has been real drowsy over the past few years. Many are trying to coax him back to sleep with soothing words… “There are no terrorist we won’t even use that word anymore… the border is secure… Islam is a peaceful religion…” I’m just grateful he lashed out one last time before slumber… before he is awakened again.

These two men want the same thing!

Eric Holder knows better than Congress. He knows better than the majority of the families of 911 victims. He knows better than the people of New York. He even knows better than all the American People. And today (4/4/2011) he stamped his little feet, threw a tantrum, and told us as much.

Holder had to admit that his hands had been sufficiently tied via Congressional control of purse strings. He has no means to bring the prisoners to trial in the U.S. and must let the military tribunals resume.

Holding the trials in New York was part of Holder’s (and Obama’s) plans to “embarrass” the Bush administration over torture accusations. Giving terrorist a podium to grandstand and even setting a few of them free was considered a small price to pay for this political payback. While Obama dodged responsibility by always asserting it was Holders’ decision; this was part of his 2008 campaign promise to “Shut down Guantanamo”, “and hold civilian trials.”

We did get a preview of what the trials in New York would have been like. Holder did manage to get one terrorist trial in there before he was stopped. That was the trial of Ahmed Ghailani. He was acquitted in federal court in New York of ALL BUT ONE of more than 280 charges. This guy took part in the al-Qaida bombing of two U.S. embassies in Africa, killing 224 people, including 12 Americans. Interviews with the jury afterward revealed that because of ONE leftist nut on the jury; this guy almost walked.

Back in December (remember, this was when the Dems held House and Senate), Congress, with the support of pretty much everyone else in America (save for the uber-left) got a bill through that said “no money for you” (like the Soup Nazi) to try the dirt-bags here in the U.S. And since it was estimated (by Obama) to take four years and cost upwards of 800 million dollars; Obama and Holder finally had to cave.

But Holder and Obama want you to know that the caving was strictly financial and had absolutely nothing to do with them coming to their senses politically or financially. They would have done it despite public opinion, despite the danger to citizens of New York, and despite the horrendous costs if not for Congress stopping them.

Holder “lambasted Congress for imposing restrictions blocking any detainees from being tried in the U.S.”… “Do I know better than them? Yes. I respect their ability to disagree but they should respect that this is an executive branch function, a unique executive branch function.”

Holder said that as a native New Yorker, he knows as well as anyone the federal court’s capacity to try the suspects. Really! Because just about EVERY OTHER native New Yorker said not no, but hell no to the idea.

Holder added that he’s intimately familiar with the cases, much more so than congressional members — or the public… Again, Really! Is he just as familiar with these cases as he was the Ghailani case? Because that thing was a fiasco.

Despite Eric Holder’s best efforts; these dirt bags are not entitled Constitutional rights. They are not entitled to a public forum to drum up jihadist fervor. And they are not available political tools he can use to hopefully embarrass the Bush administration.

Thanks to Congress and the purse string check applied by our founding fathers; a great injustice was thwarted. One almost implemented by the man in charge of the Department of Justice (and his boss).
