Obama Busted After Selfie

Man… I’m learning more and more about this little fiasco all the time.

At first Michele looks pissed while avoiding the “selfie” and you brush that off because “When does Michele Obama NOT look pissed?”

Now there are three other pictures of the incident where Michele looks pissed and again you might blow it off, but in the last picture… she’s switches seats with the President.

The last picture almost screams for the caption “Busted!”

Funeral Selfie – Left vs. Right

Here are two different takes of the “Funeral Selfie”… (I hadn’t seen these before the previous post on the subject)

The left (excuse me… Nick Anderson of the Houston Chronicle is a self-proclaimed and media-proclaimed “moderate”) sees this as no big deal and use it as a joke to attack and label the tea party as 1) hicks and 2) dead; which begs the question if they really believe either which in turn would be a separate statement concerning their intellectual honesty.

And the right (including me) sees this as ANOTHER example of gross incompetence, narcissism, and hubris. Great minds think alike :)… Micahel Ramirez (the best political cartoonist out there) had the same reaction… Nero fiddling…

The Clown Kings of the West

So you take your teenager to a memorial service, you mingle and offer condolences to the family when out of the corner of your eye you see your kid yucking it up with a couple of pals taking a “selfie” (photo)… at a memorial service. Setting aside the embarrassment and the sincere apologies owed to the family and guests; this is what many (responsible) parents would call a teachable moment. Not only should the child be yanked up then and there and instructed to sit on his hands and not utter another word for the remainder of the service; but a good parent would follow with a lecture on responsible social behavior, a warning that this will not happen again, and capped off with a severe grounding if not a loving correctional ass-whooping. Children…

But what is to be done when the “child” in question is a 52 year old man and a “world leader”; accompanied no less by “world leaders” (British Prime Minister David Cameron and Denmark Prime Minister Helle Thorning Schmidt). We can only hope that Michele Obama was conscious of the inappropriate nature of the actions of the three; but who knows.

This boob that occupies the White House doesn’t even have the common sense and/or decency a teenager should have. And the pass after pass after pass this guy gets? Unconscionable!

How the West was lost by the selfie president (Full Column)

Excerpts:
My bookshelves sag with encyclopedic volumes arguing that America and the West are in decline. But proving that a picture is worth a thousand books, the “selfie” seen ’round the world ends the argument.

It’s official — the government of the United States of Obama consists of boobs and bores and is led by a narcissist. It is no consolation that Great Britain joins us in racing to the bottom.

President Obama’s flirting with Denmark’s prime minister would be shameful on any occasion. That it happened at the memorial for Nelson Mandela only adds to the embarrassment.

But the “selfie” episode also symbolizes the greater global calamity of Western decline. With British Prime Minister David Cameron playing the role of Obama’s giggling wingman, the “look at me” moment confirms we have unserious leaders in a dangerously serious time.

The sign-language interpreter wasn’t the only fake at the Mandela funeral. Obama and Cameron were posing as world leaders.

They will never be confused with FDR and Churchill. The fratboys stand in stark contrast to the days when the “special relationship” meant two great leaders uniting two great countries in the fight for freedom. Those leaders understood the consequences if evil prevailed and were committed to victory.

Try to imagine any of those four (Churchill/Roosevelt & Reagan/Thatcher) embarrassing their nations by acting like indulgent teenagers while civilization hung in the balance. You can’t because they wouldn’t.

Hitler’s greatest mistake was being born too soon. If he were on the march now, would there be will in Washington and London to stop him? Would there be an arsenal of democracy to save mankind from darkness?

[TexasLynn: But the Hitler of our time may have been born just right… perhaps months away from attaining nuclear weapons…]

Words don’t matter to tyrants and genocidal maniacs. They push until they are convinced there will be consequences if they go further.

Our weakness invites their aggression and makes war more likely, not less. That is the perilous state of the world, as the clown kings of the West party on.
