I follow Mallard Fillmore (by Bruce Tinsley) in the Conservative Chronicle, which I subscribe to. Every new year he puts out a few predictions… Here are a few I really liked for 2012.
(P.S.) I think you can click on the actual cartoon in WordPress to make it bigger/readable. Try it! Then use the back button to return to the blog/post…
And I especially like this prediction, because it’s so right on the money…
I like the metaphor of Mitt Romney as a sandwich with no meat. π
>> I like the metaphor of Mitt Romney as a sandwich with no meat.
That’s one way of looking at it… the wrong way… π
The artist is inferring that we (Republicans and Conservatives) will pick “none of the above” by selecting the grilled cheese sandwich as our nominee.
Then, because the current incumbent is so bad; the grilled cheese sandwich (none of the above) will win the general election… thus causing a Constitutional crisis.
Personally, I think the sandwich’s eligibility would depend on where and by whom it was grilled.
Geez, you pick weird times to be literal. You are subjective with stuff with stats, like who-won-which-primary (which has, admittedly, changed), but objective with political cartoons. π
I know what the guy was saying. I’m adding my joke to it. We both know the only reason a Mormon moderate from Massachusetts is a leading candidate is because of infighting, so comparing Mitt to the proverbial cheese sandwich isn’t bad, isn’t bad at all. π
I just hope there’s still a reason to vote in Texas in April. I’d love a Newt Gingrich/Ron Paul ticket. I know, I know, that’s not likely… but a man can dream. A man can dream.
Sorry… I guess I’m just so used to correcting my liberal friend. π Your Mormon moderate = Cheese sandwich addition was indeed funny.
>> I just hope thereβs still a reason to vote in Texas .
Doubtful, but you never know.
>> Gingrich/Ron Paul ticket… A man can dream.
If you’re dreaming of Gingrich/Paul I’d lay off whatever you’re eating (or smoking) before you go to bed. π
That’s ok, my moderate friend. π
So what do you think of Nancy Pelosi’s prediction for 2012?

I’ve never seen her so bitter and shrewish as when she was saying that. It was kinda funny, like she was going to transform into a black dragon, like the evil queen does in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty.

The woman is a nut-ball!
I remember Gingrich being removed from the House. Yes there was an investigation and fine… something about teaching a class and getting paid for it… It was total bull-shit.
Then the Republicans got tired of Gingrich. Many say it was because he was all over the place with various ideas. Whatever the reason, they decided it was time for him to go and didn’t support him for Speaker. The ethics investigation was just as good as any other excuse to pull the trigger.
Like every other Speaker (with a little pride) who lost his position, Newt decided to resign as opposed to being just another one in 435. Nancy seems to be that exception; but then I don’t think she’s realized she’s not Speaker anymore. Newt didn’t resign because he got caught in some terrible lapse of judgment or ethics. He resigned because if he didn’t want to play the game after being demoted.
Now after that, he did cash in using the consulting gig…
Nancy was on the dirt digging committee that everyone talks about. And it did probably find a few skeletons in Newt’s closet; probably overblown in Nancy’s “mind”. The thing is; it’s a felony for her to divulge any information from that investigation that wasn’t part of the official public document.
Not that the law matters to Nancy. She’s either too stupid to realize that it applies to her (and she may be right when you consider our current Attorney General and Justice Dept.); or she’s too arrogant to think the law applies to her (and again, she may be right.)
I predict that IF Newt is the nominee; Nancy will indeed break the law and spill the beans on something. It will make brief headlines with the Main Stream Media, be overblown, and go away. Nancy meanwhile will not even be considered for prosecution. This isn’t a Republican after all, for whom those laws were written…
>The woman is a nut-ball!
OK, good! Now I know who your Michelle Bachmann is. Both sides of our nut-ball coin can be properly engraved. π
Yeah, I agree that she doesn’t seem to be acting like she’s not Speaker any more. Confidence is fine. I think it’s delusional at this point, but it’s understandable.
