Let’s break this statement down.
“we’re counting on all of you, the legitimate news media” Translation: We all know your biased in our favor and we’re depending on you to misinform the public about our intentions… in other words, just keep doing what you’ve been doing.
“because the truth is that times have changed.” Translation: I know it’s horrible, but you guys don’t have a monopoly like you use to. There’s another station out there now and the dammed internet allows for you guys to be bypassed.
“The social media that exists out there” Translation: People expose us all the time though this thing called social media… Dam that Al Gore! What we he thinking creating the internet!?
“the tragedies that have occurred” Translation: Never let a crisis go to waste. We’ll dance on as many graves as it takes to implement our anti-gun agenda.
“the Supreme Court decision affirming that its an individual right to bear arms” Translation: Now THAT is a crisis, and something me and Obama would undo if we get to pack the court.
“all give a lie to the argument that what we’re trying to do is somehow unconstitutional” Translation: We liberals and as such have disdain for that antiquated document. But… we’ve got to pretend; so we’ll wrap our rhetoric in those terms.
“or somehow goes after the legitimate right to own and bear arms and to hunt and protect yourselves.” Translation: That’s exactly what we’re doing but we’ll hide it in Orwellian New-speak. Again, all you have to do is report our rhetoric as news.
Liberal Media Bias? You Bet Your Sweet Ass!

Back to the point of the actual post; Joe Biden is basically acknowledging that the MSM is biased towards the leftist point of view and that they need to do Obama’s bidding on this if they (the left) are to be victorious. Biden already knows any coverage by the MSM will be on their side. He just needs to convince them to push the propaganda. Thus his pleading for coverage.
I was talking to a friend (who knew you as a young man in Center) and we were discussing you, of all people. I mentioned that you claim to think there is no such thing as liberal media bias. Of course she thought that was like not believing in your own nose. And she is right.
I wish you had more than two crayons in your box. I never said it wasnt there; I simply don’t believe it (or anything) is as bad as you think it is, because you have a tendency for melodrama.
I only read the papers now (NYT & WSJ). Haven’t watched TV news in a decade. I’ll let you keep an eye on CNN for me. When they get to full nudity, let me know.
