It doesn’t matter what their initial “intentions” are. The emblems on the uniform eventually become interchangeable… a rising sun, a hammer & cycle, a equilateral cross, or maybe a crescent moon and star. Tyranny is tyranny and often begins with disarming citizens in the name of safety.
In 2008 candidate Obama referred to his dream to establish a Civilian National Security Force “that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded (as the U.S. Military).”
The FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 made domestic drone flyovers a reality. The Constitution? It’s a “living” document that should adapt to the times (and obviously the ambitions of those in power).
But I’m just being hateful and paranoid… Move along, nothing to see here…
