Subsidies. Whatever level of government (local, state, federal); they are one of the biggest wastes of public monies there is. They are rife with abuse so as the party in power rewards their supporters. You could say a subsidy is a politician bribing us (the public) with our own money or at best they’re a legalized kick-back.
